when calculating stair ratios do i take into consideration the depth of the riser and tread

my total rise is 77'' l want 11 steps do l cut my stringers to 7'' or 5.5''

you bet its called rise and run equals tread hight and depth

with no difference in the step rise of more than 1/16'' The rise and run

is FF to landing or FF finish floor. don't forget to deduct for tread

thickness out of the rise on your starter step when cutting the

You only consider the first step to be 5.5. The rest 7. You

should minus the thickness of the top tread from the total rise.
